Our iNNO SED project partners at the Technical University of Munich have made a successful start to their data collection efforts along the Iller River Demonstration Site, by completing their first field sampling campaign! Working with a team of 7 over 7 days, they have successfully gathered crucial data that will be used to assess the effectiveness of sediment management measures implemented from 2016 to 2019, and to understand how they’ve evolved over time. It will also help our partners at TUM to develop 2-D hydromorphological models for future analysis.
7 Days
3 drone flights over 3 study sites
36 sediment samples to analyse riverbed composition
22 river transects for detailed hydromorphological data
12 discharge measurements to complete the picture
Here's a snapshot of what the team achieved last month:
We would like to congratulate Antonia Dallmeier for leading this field sampling campaign, and we would also like to acknowledge the Hannah Schwedhelm, Ibrahim Eid, Mafurebo Andy Kanobayita, Lilian Schmautz, Raphael Piehl, and Vincent Olander whose hard work and dedication ensured a successful campaign!
We can’t wait to hear what else our partners along the Iller River get up to over the coming months!
