iNNO SED Student Engagement at Budapest University of Technology and Economics
13th February 2026
Our iNNO SED colleagues at BME in Hungary engaging and informing students in a very fun and novel way about themes related to river morphology.

On the 3rd of February, the Faculty of Civil Engineering (Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Zielinski Szilárd Civil Engineering College for Advanced Studies (IACES LC Budapest) organized an open day. This was an educational promotion event for students (16-18yrs) who have yet to choose their future profession and the university they want to attend.

Approximately 100 students took part in the event, many of whom dropped by to visit the iNNO SED project lead at the Department of Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering located at BME. Here, they had some hands-on experiences with our iNNO SED colleagues building structures from LEGO® and placing it onto the Emriver stream table, to observe and learn about changes in river morphology under different flows, as well as the ways in whch sediment transport is affected by various hydraulic structures.
