iNNO SED kickoff

6th & 7th of November 2024
iNNO SED (iNNOvative SEDiment management in the Danube River Basin) kicked off with great enthusiasm and engagement from its partners in Budapest, Hungary on the 5th and 6th of November 2024! The vibrant and insightful event was hosted by our coordinating partner organisation, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), and was organised and facilitated by our project coordinator Dr Sándor Baranya, and iNNO SED project manager Barbara Kéri.
The project brings together 46 funded and associated partners and has secured €8.1m in funding from Horizon Europe to develop innovative, sustainable, and scientifically grounded solutions for sediment management for the Danube River Basin.

Day 1 of the iNNO SED project kick-off meeting took place at the beautiful facilities of BME with plenty of room for networking and specialist discussions. It included an overview of each Work Package, highlighting in particular key Deliverables, Milestones, and consortium collaborations.

On Day 2 the Danube River itself became the main stage with the meeting taking place on a boat. The journey from Budapest city centre and 2 hours upstream became the backdrop for discussions on our ambitious Work Packages. The hospitality of the BME team was amazing and while the project aims to tackle serious issues, partnerships were solidified and friendships made.
Join us over the next five years, as iNNO SED aims to deliver sustainable and effective solutions to improve sediment quality and quantity in the Danube River Basin, by following our social media accounts and signing up to project newsletter!
